Woman sleeping under truck killed, July 29
A 52-year-old woman who fell asleep under a semi-truck died after the driver, who didn't realize she was there, moved the vehicle and ran her over Sunday, July 29, police said.
An employee of the Trader Joe's on Garnet Avenue came upon the woman in an alley behind the store and called police about 1:20 p.m., police officer Sarah Foster said.
Police and paramedics arrived and tried to save the woman, but she succumbed to her injuries. She was not identified. Officers were investigating the incident as an accident.
