Nigella Hillgarth, Ph.D., will be the first speaker in The Bishop’s School’s Science Lecture Series that starts on Oct. 1.

A zoologist who joined the Birch Aquarium at Scripps in 2002, she oversees the award-winning climate change exhibit, “Feeling the Heat: the Climate Challenge,” which brings the science and facts about global warming studied at Scripps Oceanography to the public.

During her talk at 6 p.m. in the Geier Family Presentation Hall in the Michael & Marlene Teitelman Science Center, Hillgarth will talk about climate change and how it pertains to California.
