Young robber hits Midway bank

A young man armed with a pistol robbed a Midway-area bank Monday afternoon and made his getaway on a skateboard, police said.

The man, who appeared to be in his early 20s, approached a teller at the Comerica branch office in the 3300 block of Rosecrans Street and displayed the gun shortly before 4 p.m., according to San Diego police.

The employee handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the robber walked out of the bank and skated away. He was described as a thin man in a white shirt, black knit cap, green bandana and sunglasses, carrying a black backpack.
