Wine walk pays off for Promote La Jolla
Promote La Jolla turned a profit on the 2009 edition of the Gallery Wine Walk & Taste event held on Nov. 5, President Rick Wildman reported Monday.
With about 600 tickets sold, when organizers completed a tally of expenses and revenue, the result was a profit of $3,789.90, he said.
It cost $20,293.66 to put on the event, which brought in $24,083.56.
Treasurer Daisy Fitzgerald noted that more than $5,300 was collected on the night of the event in addition to tickets sold in advance online or at the galleries and shops.
With the organization’s finances in limbo leading up to the event, PLJ’s board had advanced some money for advertising in hopes that they would earn it back.
