WindanSea Surf Club to host kids’ day

WindanSea Surf Club will host its 22nd annual “Kids Day at the Beach” on Aug. 23 at La Jolla Shores from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will bring more than 60 children from St. Vincent de Paul Shelter for Homeless Families in downtown San Diego to the beach to learn how to surf. They’ll also be treated to a beachside barbecue lunch and goodies donated by local and national sponsors.

The Day at the Beach Foundation was founded by Scot Cherry of the WindanSea Surf Club in La Jolla. Adam Bloomberg is the event’s director.
