What’s Up Girard event dazzles design savvy

Last Saturday, interior design sophisticates gathered in The La Jolla Design District for the What’s Up Girard event. This year marked the 5th anniversary of the free event, which showcased a series of upscale, educational showroom seminars. The seminars included topics such as “Building a Bath on a Budget” and “Incorporating Luxury Fabrics Into the Home.”

Those who attended the daytime seminars were invited to the evening showroom soirees at Everett Stunz, Material Things, Divan Studio and Seaside Home. Guests mingled with architects and top design professionals and enjoyed food by Pacifica Del Mar, Heaven Sent Desserts and Cafe Milano as well as beer by Firehouse Brewery and martinis by Skyy.

The What’s Up Girard showrooms showed their support for the community with a silent auction. The proceeds were donated to support BLOOM, a fundraising organization dedicated to beautifying La Jolla Elementary School.
