La Jolla High School dropped a 1-0 decision to Mission Bay on April 17 in extra innings. The Bucs plated the game’s lone run in the bottom of the ninth. Jimmy Filter and Trent Jemmet each had two hits in the loss.

The Vikings fell to Mission Bay, 6-1, on April 19. Peter Sefton went 2-for-3 in the defeat.

La Jolla rebounded with a 6-5 extra-innings win over Cathedral Catholic on April 21. Sefton drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth.

The Bishop’s School picked up a 9-5 win over Army-Navy Academy on April 18. Colin Walsh homered for the Knights.

The Knights beat city rival La Jolla Country Day, 12-4, on April 19. Kyle Reese had two hits for Country Day.

The Torreys edged Canyon Crest Academy, 4-1, on April 17. Mike McKenna drove in two runs, and Tommy Morris went 2-for-3.

SoftballLa Jolla High School fell, 6-5, to Coronado on April 17.The Vikings bounced back with an 11-2 win over Mission Bay on April 17. Becky Foster hit two home runs.The Bishop’s School dropped a 4-2 game to Horizon Christian on April 18. Bishop’s committed as many errors (six) as it had hits. Michelle Brunker hit a solo home run.La Jolla Country Day fell to Escondido Charter, 7-6, on April 16.The Torreys eased to a 14-2 win over Canyon Crest Academy on April 18, banging out 18 hits. Dominque Conners went 4-for-4, and Sammy Berenter hit a three-run home run for the Torreys. Brittany Dawson pitched a complete game, striking out seven.

Track and fieldLa Jolla High School’s girls team secured an 81-55 victory over Cathedral Catholic on April 18.Dana Hoolko won the shot put and placed second in both the 100 meters and 200 meters. Allyn Meyer was victorious in the triple jump and took second in the long jump and shot put. Nihal Kayali won the 1,600 and placed second in the triple jump with a personal record mark of 31 feet, 8 inches.The Vikings tied Point Loma, 80-80, in the Mustang Relays on April 21. The shuttle hurdle team of Gina Schumaher, Marina Mautner, Ceclia Nguyen and Meagan Forrey broke the school record in that event, clocking a time of 1 minute, 11.20 seconds.The Bishop’s School’s boys team beat San Dieguito Academy, 78-49, and toppled Army-Navy Academy, 85-41, in a three-team meet on April 19.The Bishop’s Schools girls team beat San Dieguito Academy, 94-32, on April 19.La Jolla Country Day’s boys and girls teams each won by forfeit over Santa Fe Christian on April 19.

SwimmingLa Jolla High School’s boys team toppled Scripps Ranch, 111-59, on April 17. The Vikings’ boys squad eased past Cathedral, 81-55, on April 18.La Jolla High School’s girls team swam past Scripps Ranch, 122-47, on April 17.

The Vikings dropped a 186-200 match to Cathedral Catholic at La Jolla Country Club on April 17.La Jolla rebounded with a 197-214 win over Crawford at Balboa Park Golf Course on April 18. Ian Perlman was the medalist, shooting 1-over-par 37.La Jolla Country Day toppled The Bishop’s School, 191-209, at La Jolla Country Club on April 16. The Torreys’ Connor Alan-Lee was the medalist, shooting 1-under par 34.

Boys volleyballThe Bishop’s School fell to Canyon Crest Academy, 25-23, 25-22, 14-25, 25-27, 13-15, on April 17. Trevor Sinclair had 38 assists.The Knights competed in the Scripps Ranch Invitational on April 20 and 21, and finished second in the consolation bracket. They went 2-1 on the first day and 4-1 on the second. Corey Malkiewicz had 43 kills on the second day and was named to the all-tournament team.La Jolla High School picked up a 25-23, 14-25, 25-22, 24-26, 15-13 victory over Cathedral Catholic on April 17.
