Wachovia’s La Jolla branch robbed at gunpoint
A man who appeared to be in his 60s brandished a pistol Monday afternoon while robbing a La Jolla bank.
The holdup at the Wachovia branch office in the 1000 block of Torrey Pines Road was reported shortly after 1 p.m., according to San Diego police.
The thief fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a black sport utility vehicle, possibly a Honda Pilot, SDPD spokeswoman Monica Munoz said.
Witnesses described him as a roughly 6-foot-1-inch man in tan pants, a dark-colored sweat shirt, a tan beanie and dark glasses.
