University City brush fire stopped

A small brush fire that began about 4:35 p.m. on Monday in a canyon in the University City area at Shoreline and Nobel Drive burned less than an acre before being extinguished, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department Spokesman Maurice Luque said late Monday.

“It was moving but not threatening anything,” he said. “It was contained in about 20 minutes.”
