A revised version of the Winter 2009 production schedule has been released. New shows have replaced three previously scheduled performances - “The Lower Depths,” “Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom” and “La Mandragola.” Performances added to the schedule include “Danton’s Death,” “The Mistakes Madeline Made” and “1001.”
All the performances will take place within the UCSD Theatre District. The season kicks off with the Jan. 29 performance of “The Misanthrope,” which was written by Moliere and is being directed by James Winker. It explores the many variations and values of hypocrisy. The season ends in March with “winterWORKS,” which was created by faculty choreographers and is being directed by Eric Geiger. The program will highlight the talents of the students, faculty and New York guest artist Miguel Gutierrez.
