UC San Diego was ranked 35th among national universities by U.S. News and World Report, it was announced Thursday.
UCSD was tied at 35th with the Georgia Institute of Technology, Lehigh University and the University of Rochester.
Topping the list was Harvard and Princeton, which tied for first place. Yale University came in third, followed by the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University and the University of Pennsylvania, all which tied for fourth place.
The rankings appear in U.S. News and World Report’s “2010 Americas Best Colleges’’ issue.
