UCSD names women’s water polo coach

Brad Kreutzkamp, an associate head coach with the UCSD men’s water polo team for the last three years, has been named the head coach of the women’s program, Director of Athletics Earl W. Edwards announced last week.

Kreutzkamp replaces Larry Sanders, who resigned in June after 10 years with the program.

Kreutzkamp becomes just the third coach in program history, taking over a Triton squad that posted an overall record of 12-20 in 2009.

Kreutzkamp came to UCSD as an assistant coach with the women’s team in 1999 before joining longtime head coach Denny Harper on the men’s staff the following season. He served as an assistant under Harper until 2006, when he was promoted to associate head coach.
