UC San Diego lecturer, former director, appointed to City Planning Commission

The City Council has unanimously appointed Susan Peerson to San Diego’s Planning Commission.

Peerson, who was nominated by Mayor Jerry Sanders, will replace the termed-out Dennis Otsuji.

She owns an urban planning firm and is a lecturer in urban studies and planning at UC San Diego. She previously served as director of physical planning for the university campus in La Jolla.

The Planning Commission makes land use decisions and recommendations to the City Council. It meets next on March 15.
