Turf field work ongoing at Muirlands Middle School

Installation of the new a synthetic turf field at Muirlands Middle School as part of a multisports complex that is shared with La Jolla High School will only be ‘minimally slowed’ by recent heavy rains. ‘We only have three more days of heavy equipment having to be on the field,’ said Howard Frank, chair of Turf It, a field fundraising committee. About $60,000 is still needed for additional expenses resulting from water damage, as well for a running surface and fitness area to complement the new multisports complex. Ground was broken for field construction in November. For details, go to www.muirlandsms.org/turfit.
