Trick-or-treat hours noted in Bird Rock
Bird Rock residents are reminded to contribute to a safe and secure Halloween on Saturday by only handing out Halloween treats from 5 to 8 p.m.
After that, community leaders and police are asking them to turn off their lights and bring in their pumpkins for safety.
Police once again this year will have a beefed-up presence in the community with as many as a dozen officers doing foot patrol and a command post set up on Camino de la Costa. The social host ordinance, which holds adults responsible for alcohol consumed by minors on their premises, will also be enforced.
