Town Council arts and culture forum is June 4 at Warwick’s
La Jolla Town Council will host a forum highlighting La Jolla’s rich arts and culture offerings, 6:45-8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 4 at Warwick’s Books, 7812 Girard Ave.
The event will feature presentations from the directors of eight arts and culture institutions, including La Jolla Music Society, La Jolla Playhouse, Athenaeum Music & Arts Library, La Jolla Historical Society, Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, La Jolla Symphony and Chorus, Stuart Collection and ArtPower!
“As the representative for all of La Jolla, it is important for the La Jolla Town Council to showcase La Jolla’s arts and culture,” said Town Council president Steve Haskins. “Of all the communities of San Diego, La Jolla has the greatest concentration of arts and cultural organizations in the city. We want all residents and visitors to know about these organizations, support them and to enjoy what they have to offer.”
The event will include live music, refreshments and a raffle, including prizes such as Warwick’s gift certificates, museum and concert tickets and other items from the featured institutions. An RSVP is not required, however seating is limited to the first 100 persons, with some standing room available.
La Jolla Community Foundation is sponsoring drinks and appetizers for the event.
