Torrey Pines students walk for funds

Torrey Pines Elementary School hosted its annual Heart & Sole Walk-A-Thon last month, raising more than $40,000. All students participated in the Walk-A-Thon, warming up with the YMCA physical education staff and then walking all together. Students gathered sponsors who made a one-time donation or donated a dollar amount per lap walked. Funds go directly toward programs such as art, music, physical education, library and computer lab, as well as reduced classroom sizes.
