A cliff collapsed in the southern area of Torrey Pines State Beach at 7:55 a.m. this morning.
“It was a routine cliff collapse...a non-event,” San Diego Lifeguard Lieutenant Nick Lerma said. No injuries were reported. One of the city’s helicopters flew over to verify there were no injuries.
The collapse took place on the state beach proper, but a lot of city agencies were called in to help just in case, Lerma said.
