• TARNISHING OUR JEWEL:

Litter at La Jolla Shores beach is a concern for La Jolla Light reader Caroline Chamales, who submitted this image and said: “I hope this photo can put pressure on the city to clean up La Jolla Shores beach. I took this picture at 8 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014 at the Shores. Sadly, this is how it looks every Sunday morning. Surely the city can do better than this.”
