Swerdlow to go to Lafayette

La Jolla High punter Ethan Swerdlow is heading for Lafayette College in Easton, Penn., a team that has won the Patriot League title three of the last five years.

Swerdlow, who holds the La Jolla High School record for total punting yards and longest punt - a 70-yarder against Hoover High last season - was the first Vikings player in the class of 2009 to receive a Division 1 scholarship offer, his father, Neil, wrote in an e-mail to the Light.
