Stepping along Windansea

New wooden stairs replacing the old concrete ones at Westbourne Street and Neptune Place were installed just prior to Memorial Day weekend. Friends of Windansea picked up the tab of $40,405.

The project, the final phase in the Windansea Plan approved in 2000 to improve the neighborhood beach area, included replacing trash receptacles and installing post and chain bollards, said landscape architect Jim Neri who guided the effort.

The Coggan family gave $100,000 in seed money for Windansea improvements.
