Starlight society holds 14th annual luncheon

The Starlight Society held its 14th Annual “Starlight Starbright” luncheon and fashion show recently. The event, chaired by La Jolla arts angel Merle Lotherington, was held at the Bahia Resort Hotel.

“I decided to go elegant this year,” said Lotherington in her introductory remarks, “and as I look out at all of you – you got the message.”

Stunning hats and coordinated outfits were definitely the norm at this year’s event, and as Lotherington pointed out, “Four shops – all in La Jolla – contributed the fashions.”

Among the many fashionable La Jollans enjoying the afternoon were Sally Thornton, Dotti Howe, Carol and Karisa Karlovich, Joan Bowes, Mary Walker, Cristull Hasson, Olivia Rotert, Marie Chemali, Rita Crouch, Marilyn Barrett, Marilyn Nunn, Mayo Osman and her daughter Avery, Rose Mary and Julie Taylor, Cindy Peterson and Phyllish Parrish.
