St. Germaine Children’s Charity goes to the Grad Prix
St. Germaine Children’s Charity threw a unique party for its supporters. It was the organization’s inaugural “La Jolla Monaco Gala Grand Prix Cocktail Party” - an event that took its Grand Prix theme very seriously. The twilight bash, held at Sante Ristorante in La Jolla, featured a huge ice sculpture shaped like a racing car as its centerpiece. Real luxury cars (including a Ferrari and a Jaguar) were parked out front, offering guests a great photo opportunity.
The best part about the gala was that it was a fundraiser to benefit abused and neglected children in San Diego County. More than $2 million has already been awarded, along with a million dollars of in-kind donations.
As usual, La Jollans did their share to fill the organization’s coffers. Among the locals on hand were Maurine Beinbrink, Mary Johnson, Lisa Bois, Rita and Marv Crouch, Mary Walker, Carol Karlovich, Cynthia and Dan Kronemyer, Alice and George Brana, Mitch and Dianne Goldman, Lee Maturo, Dolores and Rod Smith, Constance Hughes (chair) and Rick Widman (co-chair of the event).
