Viewing Experience:The flagship W950B will incorporate TRILUMINOS Display, which is said to produce more realistic color and shading. TRILUMINOS Display will work in unison with Sony’s X-Reality PRO picture engine to create rich color and maintain brightness, hue and saturation. Sony has also implemented its X-tended Dynamic Range in to achieve a more vibrant range of brightness.
Sound:The entire BRAVIA line-up has been upgraded with ClearAudio + sound processing for a clearer, more immersive audio experience. An optional wireless subwoofer (model SWF-BR100) is also available to create even richer sound.
Design:While many other TVs have gone curved, Sony’s W950B and W850B series models have gone the way of the Wedge. The Wedge shape allows larger speakers for a richer, more powerful sound. The Wedge shape also lowers the TV’s center of gravity, enabling a smaller pedestal size.
Smart Options:A new user interface (UI) for the 2014 BRAVIA line-up facilitates streaming from the Web or a home network using built-in Wi-Fi, enabling viewers to simultaneously watch conventional digital broadcasts and network and personal content. The W950B series models offer Sony’s One-Flick Entertainment feature which allows viewers to access DVR, online and smartphone content. The 2014 BRAVIA line-up also includes Social Viewing, which is a built-in camera and microphone that allows users to Skype and follow others’ tweets about your favorite shows while watching TV.
Live “Football” Mode– For the sports fanatics out there, the Live “Football” Launcher automatically adjusts the picture and sound settings to recreate a live stadium experience.
