Small quakes shake Calexico area
A magnitude-3.3 earthquake near Calexico early today was followed by a magnitude-3.5 shaker, according to preliminary information from the U.S. Geological Survey.
The first quake struck at 1:14 a.m. and was centered 13 miles south
southwest of the border town of Calexico, which is in Imperial County, the USGS reported.
The second temblor struck at 1:48 a.m. and was centered 11 miles south
southwest of Calexico.
Earthquakes in the magnitude-3 range are perceptible but rarely cause
damage.
