September is National Preparedness Month and October is the height of fire season, so this is a good time to review your emergency preparations and finish the ones you have started.

“Before San Diego’s Santa Ana season begins, residents should go online to register for free emergency notifications from AlertSanDiego and learn about how to safeguard their homes from a wildfire or other hazard,” said Ron Lane, director of the Office of Emergency Services.

Registered residents will receive free emergency messages only in the event of a disaster affecting their community.
