Shurtleff to lead TP Rotary

Gordon Shurtleff was recently elected president of the Torrey Pines (La Jolla) Rotary Club.

The former owner of a temporary staffing firm based in Santa Rosa, Shurtleff has been a member of Rotary for the last 40 years, including four Rotary clubs in New Jersey and California. He has been a member of the Torrey Pines club for seven years, and was honored as “Rotarian of the Year” in 2008. He was also named “Rotarian of the Year” for 1986 by the Santa Rosa Rotary Club.

His wife, Penny, has been a member of Rotary for 22 years and is currently with the Rotary Club of La Jolla.

The Torrey Pines (La Jolla) Rotary Club is now celebrating its 45th anniversary. The club consists of 22 professional members who meet at noon every Wednesday at the Rock Bottom Restaurant on Villa La Jolla Drive, La Jolla.

Shurtleff said he will concentrate his efforts on membership growth, hands-on community involvement, supporting youth and international projects and fundraising.

The club invites professionals working in the La Jolla/San Diego area to attend meetings.
