Share

The second speaker in UCSD’s Economic Roundtable series will be Securities and Exchange Commissioner Elisse Walter.

She’ll speak about “Plans and Prospects for Financial Reform” from 7:30 to 9 a.m. April 23 at the UCSD Faculty Club.

Appointed to her post in 2008, she is one of five commissioners and formerly was senior executive vice president for regulatory policy and programs at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Walter graduated from Yale University with a degree in mathematics and has a juris doctor from Harvard Law School.

Now in its 20th year, the roundtable series is a partnership between the Economics Department and Extended Studies that brings top people from all around the country to the campus for a dialogue focusing on federal tax and trade policies. Attendees include business leaders from bankers and real estate developers to technology industry representatives.
