Scripps Clinic unit remodeled

A recent renovation of the hematology and oncology department at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines was designed to enhance outpatient cancer treatment services.

Patients and families now have more than 2,000 square feet of unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean and ornamental Torrey pines. The total renovation of 6,000 square feet included an addition of 13 infusion beds, a patient education library, staff lounge and compounding area for medications.

The vision for the renovation began several years ago, when division physicians pushed for a larger and more comfortable space for their patients to relax and heal during treatments.
