San Diegan wins Musicpalooza contest at fair

A San Diego native won first place as a soloist in the San Diego County Fair’s Musicpalooza nationwide talent contest, a fair official said Sunday.

Natisha Lyne, a country music singer who lives with her husband and their two daughters in San Diego, earned a $10,000 prize.

Five finalists competed Saturday at the Paddock Stage, where Lyne was awarded top honors by a panel of professional musicians, said fair spokeswoman Linda Zweig.

Zweig said it is the second year for the national talent search, sponsored by Noisy Planet, Anthology, Taylor Guitars and Baron Entertainment, to be held at the San Diego County Fair.
