Salaam’s Heisman ring sells for nearly $10,000

Rashaan Iman Salaam 1994 Heisman Memorial Trophy ring sold this week for $9,768, according to Nate D. Sanders Auctions.

The All-American running back, and former La Jolla Country Day standout, won the Heisman at the University of Colorado at Boulder, for rushing 2,055 yards over the course of the season.

Salaam was only the fourth major college football player to rush over 2,000 yards in a season. Salaam went on to play pro football for the Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns and Green Bay Packers. Gold with over 20 diamonds, the Heisman Ring is a stunning piece of sports history. Ring, size 11.5, is missing a small diamond to upper left corner of ring face, otherwise fine condition. With Rashan Salaam/Nate D. Sanders Certificate of Authenticity.
