• BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT:
Due to a high demand for more dance opportunities and additional performing arts programs, Royal Academy of Performing Arts (RAPA) has opened in the Sorrento Valley area of San Diego with a state-of-the-art, 15,000-square-foot facility during the fall/winter of 2014. RAPA representatives said there is no place in San Diego quite like it, and you have to see this unique facility to truly understand how amazing it is.
The new RAPA space has five extra-large studios with viewing windows. Studio No. 5 has retractable seating for more than 120 guests for in-house performances.
There are also three music/voice studios with recording equipment and an acting studio with “on-camera” classes.
RAPA also features a Pilates Reformer and Gyrontonic studio and offers yoga, life coaching, nutrition information, tutoring, physical therapy, a dietician and injury prevention.
The facility also contains a large waiting area with four large flat-screen TVs for viewing classes, a study room and tutor room with USB ports, a large changing area, juice/snack bar and a cute, little dance store. Everything is designed to strengthen the success of the dance programs so RAPA can bring the best-of-the-best dancers to San Diego.
RAPA is now enrolling dancers of all ages and is offering special scholarship opportunities for boys. There is a $200 discount for children in the 3-4- and 4-5-year-old classes.
