Robber hits Starbucks in Pacific Beach

A Starbuck’s coffee shop in Pacific Beach was robbed Sunday.

The suspect entered the business located on the corner of Gresham Street and Garnet Avenue at around 10 a.m. The suspect told the clerk he was robbing the store and demanded money, a San Diego police watch commander said. The suspect did not display a weapon and it is unknown whether he was actually armed or not.

The suspect was given cash and left the store. A customer followed the suspect into the parking lot and watched him get into a full-size pick up truck, the watch commander said.

The suspect drove the truck eastbound from the scene.

The suspect was described as a white man, 35 to 40 years old, wearing all black and a bandana covering his face, the watch commander said.

Robbery detectives were called in to investigate the incident.
