Robber hits Scripps Ranch bank

A robbery suspect was arrested about an hour after stealing cash from a Scripps Ranch bank Friday, authorities reported.

The thief handed a demand note to a teller at the San Diego National Bank branch in the 10000 block of Scripps Ranch Boulevard about 10 a.m., according to police. He fled with an undetermined amount of money.

Officers searching the area with help from a police helicopter crew took the suspect, whose name was not immediately available, into custody along with a female cohort in a nearby neighborhood, SDPD spokesman Jim Johnson said.
