Robber hits Citibank branch in La Jolla

A man in his mid-20s used a demand note Saturday to rob a Citibank branch on the corner of a busy La Jolla business district, San Diego

police said.

The robber walked into the bank at Herschel Avenue and Wall Street about

1:15 p.m. and gave the teller a note demanding money, police officer Brad Ruff said.

Ruff said the teller handed over some cash and the robber left. He did

not appear to be carrying any weapons.

Witnesses described the robber as white, 5 feet-10 inches tall, 150

pounds, with long sideburns and beard stubble. He wore a green plaid shirt, jeans and a dark ball cap.
