Roads closing for Sunday race

The “End of Summer Fire Run,” formerly known as “Moondoggies,” a 4-mile run/walk benefiting the Fire Rescue Foundation, will close La Jolla Boulevard between staging areas at the corner of Prospect Street and Fay Avenue in La Jolla to Mission Boulevard and Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach from 7:30 a.m. until about 10 a.m. Sunday.

The race will head southbound in the northbound lane on La Jolla Boulevard from Prospect and Fay continuing down Mission Boulevard in Pacific Beach, culminating at Garnet Avenue, said Barry Johnson with San Diego Police Department Special Events.

Johnson said there will be an after-race celebration starting at 11 a.m. in a holding area between Mission Boulevard and Bayard in Pacific Beach.
