Riford readers present plays
Two one-act plays by four-time Tony Award-winning playwright Tom Stoppard will be the first selections for the Riford Readers’ Theatre Greenroom at 7:15 p.m. May 10 at the Riford Center, 6811 La Jolla Blvd., La Jolla.
Both plays — “A Separate Peace” and “Albert’s Bridge” — contain Stoppard’s wry commentary on the human default mode of following the well-worn path, while giving theatergoers a glimpse of life from less-traveled routes.
All are invited to participate to discover their “inner-actor.” The Greenroom events, scheduled between staged reading productions, allow theater enthusiasts to participate extemporaneously in readings, discuss the works, and begin to build the Riford Readers’ Theatre core of actors.
A $5 donation is appreciated.
