San Diego County residents who believe the market value of their homes has fallen were reminded today that they can ask to have their property reassessed at a lower tax rate.
The deadline to file an application for changed assessment with the San Diego County Assessor/Recorder/Clerk’s Office is Dec. 1.
According to County Assessor Gregory J. Smith, those who purchased their properties at the height of the real estate boom would benefit most from reassessment.
Applications are available online at
www.sdarcc.com, by calling (619) 531-5777, or at the assessor’s office in the County Administration Center, 1600 Pacific Highway.
