Reit honored for play

Emily Reit, The Bishop’s School ‘09, who wrote the play “Prom Night” during a Playwrights Project Workshop at the school, has been named a finalist in the National Arts Recognition and Talent Search.

Reit will spend a week in Miami, Fla., where she and other finalists from around the country will attend workshops.

In “Prom Night” two over-protective parents go to drastic, outrageous measures to thwart their daughter’s prom plans, including using her date for target practice. Reit’s play was one of four selected from 400 submissions to be produced at the annual California Plays by Young Writers Festival in January at the Old Town Theatre.
