Rec Center plans spring break for children
Spring break fun, from crafts to sports, for children aged 3-10 is on tap next week at the La Jolla Recreation Center.
On Monday, the day starts at 10 a.m. with a pop-up bunny-making session, followed by a movie at 10:45 and then a chance to make a bunny out of paper plates.
On Tuesday, students from the La Jolla High School Latin and Greek Club will host a games session from 10 a.m. to noon as part of their community service requirement.
Wednesday’s lineup includes the Radical Reptile Show and games at 10:30 a.m. followed by an ice cream social.
There’s a $1 per day fee.
The center is also the site for a sports camp for 4- to 6-year-olds that runs from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. Fee is $115. For information go to www.masteryoursports.com.
Then on April 11, from 10 a.m. to noon Easter Egg hunting will fill the grass area, along with a chance to get pictures taken with the Easter Bunny, a toy grab bag and crafts. Hunting is free, but there’s a $5 per child fee for the activities inside the center.
