Ralphs at La Jolla Village Square grand reopening features ‘Kosher Experience’

At 9 a.m. July 15, Ralphs officials will celebrate the grand reopening of the remodeled and renovated Ralphs Fresh Fare supermarket at 8657 Villa La Jolla Drive in the La Jolla Village Square shopping center. The festivities will include speeches, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a tour of the remodeled store.

The 83,000 square-foot store underwent five months of major renovations. One of the additions to the remodeled store is the “Kosher Experience.” A first for Ralphs, the “Kosher Experience” is a 1,500 square-foot store within a store featuring several thousand kosher products.

Customers visiting the store’s “Kosher Experience” section will find a full-service delicatessen, bakery, meat and seafood department, frozen food section and four aisles of non-perishable kosher food products. In observance of Jewish tradition, the store’s “Kosher Experience” is supervised by a Mashgiach, who is responsible for making sure kosher dietary laws are observed.

At the grand reopening celebration, Ralphs will also present donations to several community non-profit organizations, including Feeding America San Diego, San Diego Coastkeeper and the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center.
