Quakes continue to shake region

A 3.5-magnitude earthquake rattled North County early Wednesday, just minutes after a 3.8-magnitude quake shook the far reaches of East

County.

The North County quake struck at 12:21 a.m. about 13 miles east southeast of Julian, according to a preliminary report from the U.S. Geological Survey. It was followed at 12:23 a.m. by the quake about 13 miles southeast of Ocotillo.

At 7:39 a.m., a third quake struck the region. The 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck about 13 miles south southwest of Seeley and 17 miles southwest of El Centro, according to the USGS.
