Princess Project collects prom dresses

Share

Deborah Marengo, a volunteer with The Princess Project (which collects prom dresses and accessories for high school girls who could not otherwise afford them) and Barbara Beltaire, owner of Barbarella’s Restaurant in La Jolla Shores, joined forces to host an afternoon benefit for the project.

Barbarella’s became a temporary dress shop of sorts on March 25 as friends showed their support by stopping by during happy hour with prom items and monetary donations for the cause. This is the second year for The Princess Project Dress Drive in San Diego. The nonprofit organization was started in Northern California in 2002, and San Diego became its fourth chapter in 2009.
