Preuss student wins McDonald’s scholarship

Celeste Perez, a student at The Preuss School at UCSD, recently received a scholarship from McDonald’s of San Diego. Perez, who received $2,000 toward her first year of college, was one of 10 San Diego high school seniors who received the Hispanic American Commitment to Education Resources scholarship.

To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must have at least one parent of Hispanic heritage and also be eligible to attend a two- or four-year college or university with a complete course of study.

Applicants are evaluated on an academic basis, financial need, personal successes and their commitment to the community.
