Power goes out in La Jolla Village Drive area near I-5

A power outage knocked out electricity for more than an hour Monday around lunchtime in the area around the Aventine complex on La Jolla Village Drive and University Center Lane this afternoon.

“I live about a block and a half away in Nobel Court Apartments and electricity went out in this entire grid at noon for about an hour or an hour and a half,” said Todd Perry, manager of Truluck’s Restaurant at 8990 University Center Lane about 3 p.m. after power had been restored.

Fortunately for Truluck’s, said Perry, the restaurant is open for dinner but not lunch so “it just really slowed us down a bit without costing us any business.”

Further details were not available from SDG&E about the outage.
