Poll workers still needed in La Jolla, other areas
Poll workers are still needed in several neighborhoods, including La Jolla, University City and Mira Mesa, for the Gubernatorial Primary Election on June 8.
Those who are bilingual in Spanish, Filipino and Vietnamese are also needed for other areas.
They will serve on standby to fill in for those poll workers who drop out at the last minute. Standby poll workers will receive their assignments a few days before the election.
Poll workers receive a stipend ranging from $75 to $175, depending on the assignment, and those who are bilingual may receive an additional $15 if they are assigned to provide language assistance to voters.
Poll workers must have transportation to their assigned polling location. They also need access to the Internet to complete an online training. In addition, poll workers need to attend a two-hour class and one-hour workshop.
Apply to become a poll worker using the Registrar of Voter’s online application.
