Poll workers still needed for some areas

Poll workers are still needed in several neighborhoods for the Gubernatorial General Election on Nov. 2, especially those who are bilingual in Spanish, Filipino and Vietnamese, according to a press release from the San Diego County Registrar’s office. Neighborhoods and languages include:

• Encinitas, Solana Beach (English)

• Clairemont, Mira Mesa, Rancho Penasquitos, Del Dios (Vietnamese)

• Encanto, La Mesa, Lakeside, Spring Valley, Chollas Park, City Heights, Middletown, Normal Heights (Vietnamese, Spanish)

Poll workers receive a stipend ranging from $75 to $150, depending on the assignment, and may be asked to standby to fill positions as they open in the days approaching the election. Poll workers must be U.S. Citizens, registered voters and have transportation to their assigned polling location. They also need access to the internet to complete an online training.
