The man walked into the Pet People shop at 8843 Villa La Jolla Drive about 7:45 p.m. Friday, pulled a handgun out of clip board box he was carrying and demanded cash, San Diego police Sgt. Joe Steffen said.

He ran off with an undisclosed sum from the register, Steffen said.

The robber was described as Asian, in his 30s, about 5 feet 6 inches and 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
