Poizner talks immigration, taxes in La Jolla visit
About 50 people turned out at the La Jolla Recreation Center Monday to hear Republican gubernatorial candidate Steve Poizner. He’s set for a showdown with Meg Whitman next Tuesday to face Democratic Attorney General Jerry Brown in the November general election.
Poizner, the state’s insurance commissioner, talked about his proposal for across-the-board tax cuts for every person and business in the state and his support for Proposition 13, the landmark 1978 property tax limitation measure.
