PLJ loses board member

Promote La Jolla board member Terry Underwood has submitted his resignation, effective Dec. 31.

His term was due to expire this year. Elections would have been held this month, but have been delayed because the group’s contract with the city as a business improvement district is in limbo.

Underwood was not available for comment prior to Tuesday’s press time.

His resignation was to be announced at Wednesday’s board meeting, which was also expected to include a discussion of an insurance claim submitted by an attorney for former executive director Tiffany Sherer.

The agenda item noted the claim may involve “civil and criminal issues” and attorney’s fees.

Also listed as an agenda item was an update on a public records request by an attorney representing former PLJ President Deborah Marengo. Current President Rick Wildman said last month that the group was complying with the request for all paper and e-mail documents back to 2003.
